It is my heart felt belief that deep within each of us is a
God given passion, desire, and vision.
Sadly, if there was a junk yard for unused dreams and passions, I am
afraid it would be overflowing. Whether
it is because we don’t believe in ourselves, or because we don’t think we
convince others around, or some other hindrance, we fail to pursue our
dreams. If you have such passions,
desires, and vision living within you, let me share two things with you.
First, get after it.
That’s the easy one.
Second, make sure that you pursue these things in such a way
to glorify God. In John chapter one, we
are introduced to Jesus Christ in the most incredible way. We are also introduced to several of His
early followers and disciples.
The first of this early group that we are introduced to is
John (the Baptist). This is scriptures
testimony of him (vs. 6-8), “There was a man sent from God, whose name was
John. He came as a witness, to bear witness
about the light, that all might believe through him. He was not the light, but came to bear
witness about the light.” John was
successful in his ministry because he recognized he was not building his
kingdom but Another’s.
This is a fact that we must bear in mind as we pursue our
God given passions. Thanks to things
like social media and the like, we are able to pursue the construction of our
own kingdoms like never before. Sadly,
if we make it about us, we have wasted our time and our energy. However, if we make it about Christ, and His
kingdom, we will succeed like never before.
Keep your eyes on the prize.
