Living a life that makes a difference for the Kingdom of God
takes a great amount of discernment and intentionality. Living such a life does not allow us to
create our own agendas and develop our own plans. Living a Kingdom life requires that we are
submitted to the plans and agenda of our Lord.
Even Jesus made it clear that He was not living according to
His own desires but by the desires of the Father. In John 5:19, Jesus says, “Truly, truly, I
say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the
Father doing. For whatever the Father
does, that the Son does likewise.” Jesus
was totally submitted to His Father.
If we desire to live a life that makes a difference, we must
follow the pattern of Jesus. We are not
to do things of our own accord, but what we see the Father doing. In order to recognize what the Father is
doing we must be surrendered. The
surrendered life involves reading the Bible, being very prayerful, walking in discernment,
and the sacrifice of our own will and agenda.
If we a willing to live such a life, we will make an eternal difference
in the world around us.
