Do you have a five year plan?
Do you have goals and dreams?
Have you plotted a course to make sure those plans and
dreams are achieved?
While plans, goals, and dreams are great, we must be careful
not to get ahead of our Lord. We must
make sure that we are pursuing the things that God has called us to do and not
the things we have determined in our own heart to do.
Mary, the mother of Jesus serves as a great example for
us. A young lady, in the midst of
planning her own wedding, has a life altering encounter with the Lord. It turns out that God’s plan for her life was
different than her own. Her reaction to
this was not anger or disobedience. After
a few clarifying questions she says (Luke 1:38, ESV), “Let it be to me
according to your word.”
Regardless of the course you have plotted for yourself, this
must be the position of our heart. If we
truly desire to live a Godly life, then we must live the life God has called us
to. Do not let the mentality of the
world sneak in and steal the joy of walking in God’s will.
