Sunday Reflections

Some Sunday observations. Very rarely does a Sunday night come that I do not have a sense that I am very blessed. I often rewind the day in my head and think of all the things God has done and am thankful for the church He has given us the privilege to pastor. Here is some of what I am thankful for today:

1. In spite of preaching a difficult text that might offend some, Ephesians 5 (husbands lead, wives submit), I received a tremendous amount of encouragement and affirmation. Both men and women thanked me for unpacking a challenging text.

      2. I heard a number of people affirm my teenage son and his “beatboxing” efforts. I was amazed at the amount of encouragement he received after we post a video of him exercising this talent on FaceBook. People of all ages were quick to praise him.

      3.  I was asked a number of times about my youngest son who was at home with a suspected case of the flu. Many people expressed their concerns for him and his mom who had stayed behind to care of him.

These are the sort of things that are a constant reality for us and I am thankful.
