Living a Life of Impact

It is my heartfelt conviction that God has placed within each of us a calling.  That calling may be to a specific ministry, a mission, a project, or simply a long range goal that our life is to be focused upon.  Here is the catch, the pursuit of such things will propel many, who do not feel naturally gifted, into a role of leadership.  The moment you find yourself in a leadership role you will also discover that leadership is not easy.

This was the case for Nehemiah.  When we examine the life of Nehemiah, we discover a pattern in his life that is very informative for us.  The pattern is as follows:

1. Nehemiah had a God-given vision.
2. Nehemiah prepared himself through prayer.
3. Nehemiah’s first steps were faith steps.
4. Nehemiah dared to delegate.
5. Nehemiah faced opposition.
6. Nehemiah had a heart for the people.
7. Nehemiah ultimately overcame the odds to succeed.

The first six chapters of Nehemiah bear this story out.  The story of Nehemiah is one that can serve to teach, motivate, and encourage us.  As you realize God’s call in your life, allow people like Nehemiah to be an inspiration to you.
