Genesis 1:1 says, “In the
beginning, God…” That pretty much says
it all. From the beginning there has
been God. No idea causes more
frustration, evokes more anger, or stirs the hearts and emotions of men and
women. This is a basic premise that is
accepted by some and rejected by others; all that we are, all that we have, all
that we are to become, it begins with God.
As we face this new year, a
new “beginning,” let us remember to center it in God. Make your plans, set your goals, lay out your
ambitions, but do not forget to keep God in the center of it all. We must always remember that in the
beginning, the first beginning and all other beginnings, stands God.
Let this New Year be a year
committed to God. Let it be a year that
we seek to live for God as never before.
Let this be a year that we surrender ourselves fully and completely to
God. If you have not already done so,
take a moment and commit this New Year to the Lord. Commit to seek Him as never before. Commit to spend time daily in His word and in
prayer. Commit yourselves to be obedient
to all that He might ask of you this year.
As you approach a New Year with a heart to honor God, you might just be surprised
by what He will do with you and in you this year.
